Bicyclist Bob Shay Reviews Snapdry Dryer
Weekly Summary
I have used the product a total of 27 times. The product is holding up very well and transports easily in the carrying case provided. The Snap dryer continues to perform very well and is consistent in the time it takes to dry clothing. The lobster gloves take 4 hours to dry both inside and out whether they are soaked with sweat or washed by machine. That compares to a dry out time of 1 and a half days without the Snap dryer. Since the Lobster gloves according to the washing instructions cannot be put in a dryer, the Snap dryer provides a huge benefit.
The cycling shoes dry out completely within 90 minutes using the Snap dryer. This compares to a dry out time of at least 1 day without the Snap dryer.
Instructions the operating instructions are very easy to follow and provide helpful illustrations that outline how the product operates.
Ease of assembly there were no tools required to assemble the Snap dryer. All I had to do was push together the plastic pieces. It took me less than five minutes to read the instructions and assemble the product.
Workmanship all the pieces fit together nicely. Workmanship was good. Over 90 percent of the product is made of plastic. After 27 drying sessions, the product continues to hold up nicely.
Product performance the product performs very well and is consistent in the time it takes to dry articles of clothing. The Snap dryer generates a warm air flow that slowly warms and dries the gloves and shoes. I have no concerns about the product generating too much heat and catching fire or setting fire to my articles of wet clothing. The electric motor is sufficiently far enough away from the wet clothing articles that I also had no concern of water getting into the electrical circuits. The products fan creates a low humming sound that doesnt cause a distraction. It used to take me 1 day and a half to dry out my lobster style gloves. With the Snap dryer my gloves are completely dry in less than 4 hours. My cycling shoes used to take 1 day to dry out. With the Snap dryer, my shoes dry out completely within 90 minutes.
Quality The majority of the product is made out of plastic. This is very good since the product is often exposed to wet and damp shoes and gloves. It will not rust. The product transports well. I take it with me on the weekends when traveling so that I can dry out my gloves and shoes after long rides away from home. The product parts disassemble without tools and fit nicely into the plastic carrying bag that comes with the product. The individual product pieces are made out of sturdy plastic so that they can just be pushed together and pulled apart for transport. The plastic pieces are thick and durable.
Overall I am very impressed with the product. It is made out of plastic so it wont rust when constantly exposed to wet articles of clothing. The plastic parts are engineered well and are thick and durable, almost indestructible. Since it requires no tools to assemble and disassemble, the product can easily be transported every weekend. It dries out my shoes and gloves fast allowing me to use them 4 hours later. And, it is very compact. The products compactness, transportability, and ability to quickly dry out gloves and shoes that cant be put into a dryer seem to be the unique selling proposition.
